Solstice

Apart from the shoes, I'm head to.....knee....in thrifted awesomeness.
I LOVE this bag, it's probably my most used bag at the moment. It's the perfect size and even though it looks black in the picture, it's actually a really lovely navy blue.

Gorgeous chunky mustard belt. I'm in love with this little 50pence find. One cannot go wrong with anything mustard coloured, plus it matched perfectly with the entire outfit.

Wish List - 1970's Vintage Cropped Jacket

http://www.beyondretro.com/
I am IN LOVE with the jacket which I spotted on the beyond retro website. It's described on the website as a "flamboyant multi coloured 1970's jacquard pattern cropped jacket with gold buttons and a chevron waist". It's also got nuilt in shoulder pads.....what more could a girl ask for.

Pearl Earrings

Ode To Hendrix

Gotta love band/artist tees. I'm wearing my Primark Jimi Hendrix tee with black creased Debenhams high waist trousers.
Even though it's summer you never know which way the weather is going to go in England so I threw on a red cardigan to add some brightness to the outfit.

I kept my accessories fairly simple. A brown Primark over the shoulder bag, thrifted slim black belt, Primark imitation pearl earrings.

Thrifted Shoes (May and June)

I fell in love with the black shoes because of how unique and different they are. They sort of border on being granny chic which adds to their character. Perfect for a night out on the town. I liked the thick heel, gives me a bit of height without killing my feet by the end of the night.
The brown shoes were originally from the high street store New Look, I got them for only £1 (same goes for the other two pairs of shoes). Cute little imitation wood detailing on the heel, I love them because they can be worn casually during the day or you can smart them up for evening wear.
This pair was originally from Dorothy Perkins, the colour is not to everyone's taste I'm sure but I absolutely love it. As soon as I saw them I pictured pairing them with neutrals and browns, maybe even include them in a colour blocked outfit. Brilliant for the summer.

Thrifted Handbags (April, May and June)

The above are the latest of the bag collection. I found these between April and June but from July I hope to start posting a monthly collection. My favourite out of these four would have to be the one in the bottom left hand corner, it's not too big and not too small, I can usually fit everything I need for the day in it (and i like to carry a lot of things). It looks black in the picture but it's a dark navy blue. It's just gorgeous and quite elegant.
The clutch bag I love also for the space it has, perfect to carry everything i need on a night out and obviously the polka dot detailing on the inside it really cute. I also loved the quilted detailing on the front of the clutch, shiny material which adds to that night on the town feel. Love it!!

This bag I ABSOLUTELY adore and is probably one of my favourites out of my entire bag collection. It's a really unique piece and is perfect for the summer. I love the striking red wicker, the shape of the bag adds to it's unique features. The only think I don't like about it is that I can't really carry much in it.
This bag is the latest find of these bags. I love how it's quite boxy, the colour captured my attention even though its not bright or vibrant. It's a cute and small bag but I could defiantly fit a few essentials into it. My very own Mary Poppins bag :). The inside is plain but it's a really soft suede type material, love stroking it, ha!

Carrot Cake

    CUTS INTO 8 SLICES

Ingredients
200g/7oz plain flour
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
1tsp baking powder
1tsp bicarbonate of soda
150 g/5oz dark muscovado sugar
200ml/7 fl oz vegetable oil
3 medium eggs
225g/8 oz carrots, peeled and roughly grated
50g/2 oz chopped walnuts

For the icing:
175g/6oz cream cheese finely grated rind of orange
1tbsp orange juice
1tsp vanilla essence
125g/4 oz icing sugar

Preheat the oven to 150 degrees C/300 degrees F/Gas Mark 2, 10 minutes before baking. Lightly oil and line the base of a deep 15 cm/6 inch square cake tin with greaseproof paper.

Sift the flour, spices, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda together into a large bowl. Stir in the dark muscovado sugar  and mix together. Lightly whisk the oil and eggs together, then gradually stir into the flour and sugar mixture. Stir well.

Add the carrots and walnuts. Mix thoroughly, then pour into prepared cake tin. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 1/4 hours, or until light and springy to touch and skewer inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before turning out on to a wire rack. Reserve until cold.

To make the icing, beat together the cream, orange rind, orange juice and vanilla essence. Sift the icing sugar and stir into cream cheese mixture.

When cold, discard the lining paper, spread the cream cheese icing over the top and serve cut into squares.
